The Clarendon Marathon typically takes place on a Sunday in early October. In 2021 the date is 3 October and it goes from Salisbury to Winchester. There’s a comprehensive website here.

The route diverts a little from the traditional footpath, the full marathon starts at the Laverstock sports ground (Salisbury) and finishing at King’s school in Winchester. There’s also a half marathon starting in Broughton and a 5 mile ‘mini’ starting in West Wood.

You can run a Clarendon Marathon yourself at any time of the year, of course, but there will hardly be anyone along route to cheer for you.
